HAPPINESS ONLY FROM SPIRITUALITY

There are some people, many people who say they are bored and they distressed. Why does distress occur? Because people are busy with dunyā too much, they feel distressed. The more they think about dunyā, the more they feel distressed. People feel much worse. They say “I will do this. I will do that”, or they want to be promoted at their work by working harder and more. When they sit down to talk, they talk about worldly issues. The more they talk about it, the more distress they have. Even Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim used to tell not to listen to these things. It brings more distress. If you want to get rid of distress, be with people who are after ākhirah. Attend their gatherings.

When there is a talk about dunyā, there is gloominess, darkness and sadness. When the matter of ākhirah is up, people’s souls get happy. People’s spirituality is pleased and happy. Otherwise, people are never happy with the talk of dunyā, because either others talk about themselves, or you talk about your problems. And people who cannot stand those problems feel distressed and sad too. Things that are not nice happen.

Therefore, if you want to be at peace, listen to the talks about ākhirah. Keep on the way of Allāh ﷻ. Keep on the way of our Holy Prophet ﷺ. You may read about their lives and what they did. You may listen about people of old times. Because when righteous people are remembered, Allāh ﷻ sends His ﷻ mercy down. He ﷻ sends barakah. People get comfort. But if you look at worldly people, how much someone earned, how someone worked, what someone did and things like this, you will have darkness inside and feel distressed.

Therefore, shukr to Allāh ﷻ, there are not as good people as Muslims anywhere, not in any religion. The rest want people not for guidance but to use them to convert the whole world to their religions. It has been this way since old times. The religion of Islām is not mandatory. It is to save people. It is to lead people to happiness and peace both here and hereafter.

Therefore, wherever this religion enters, it makes it prosperous. It makes both their dunyā and ākhirah prosperous. Now they have put all people in one mold in this world. They have turned their faces towards dunyā. They don’t look at ākhirah. Therefore, the whole world is distressed and sad. May Allāh ﷻ give guidance to people so that they see this beauty insha’Allah. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
