ALLĀH ﷻ LIKES THOSE WHO HAVE SHAME

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla always tells in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n about the situation of this world and the situation of those who are not truthful and not good. Today also we read [in Khutbah] about their situation in āyah of Qur’ān: that they say speak with their mouths things that are not in their hearts. Their hearts are different, and what they tell you is different. This is the situation of most people. But they don’t know that Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla knows what is in hidden in their hearts. Nothing is hidden from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla knows everything.

These people think it is beneficial for them to hide some things. They hide the right or what they know and think it is beneficial to say other things. They think it will be in their interest. Everyone is trying to cheat each other. But no one cheats Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla knows whatever is inside people. All their actions, whether they are for the pleasure of Allāh ﷻ or for their own benefit, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla is the one who knows best why they do them.

Nothing is hidden from Allāh ﷻ. If people knew this, this world would be like paradise. But certainly, as this world is dunyā, everyone must see this. Whoever is right will win. Whoever is not right will be disgraced in ākhirah and in dunyā. Because in dunyā, when people think someone is righteous and then realize he is a liar, it will be bad for him because of embarrassment if he has shame. But in the present time, may Allāh ﷻ protect us, there is no embarrassment anymore.

Whatever people are doing, they show it in front of others as if it is a skill. They have no embarrassment. They think what they do is quite normal and do it without shame in front of people. However, lack of embarrassment and shame is not good. “Al-ḥayāu min al-imān”, says our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. To feel embarrassed and have shyness is from īmān. People must be ashamed for things they do and not boast about them. If they are ashamed, they must ask for forgiveness from Allāh ﷻ. And Allāh ﷻ will conceal it, He ﷻ will not embarrass them. Otherwise, if they’re not ashamed, they will be punished in the presence of Allāh ﷻ. There is a punishment they must face in return. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from this.

May both our tongues and hearts be the same in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from hypocrites and bad people. This is a big badness. It is a badness towards people for the heart to be different from the tongue. Lying and badness don’t bring any benefit. May Allāh ﷻ protect us from their harm. May such people stay away from us. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
