WHAT IS TRUE HIJRAH?
As we said yesterday, Islam has its orders. There are orders, as we said, that change or are depending on the situation. They have conditions. One of these orders is that during the time of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, the order to migrate had come.
The order came for them to migrate from Makkah to Medina. All of them must follow that order. But of course, those polytheists of Makkah didn’t let them go. They did not allow them to migrate. Those who were able to migrate would either leave secretly or there are the strong ones whom they couldn’t do anything to. Those were able to leave. The poor or weak ones were forced to stay there. But this was the order of Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. This order stayed until Makkah was conquered. When Makkah al-Mukarramah was conquered, that order was lifted. So migration was not a Fard anymore.
When is migration allowed? When people are forced to migrate, or the enemy comes and takes them out sending them away, or a person migrates for his religion. His migration is allowed. This migration will be for the hereafter, not for this world. Not because of the troubles of this world, but for not endangering their hereafter. The person is migrating to protect his religion, language and honor. There is reward for them too. Allah ﷻ gives them reward.
Otherwise, as we said, if they will make them change their religion by force – If there is a door, to go out from there is allowed. Otherwise, if he can preserve his religion as long as he can, it is allowed [to stay]. But most of the time people become so wild. They don’t give any value to mankind. They have neither compassion nor mercy. Therefore, migration is appropriate in some places. But as we said, the true migration was the migration in the time of our Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. It was an order. They all had to leave. Shukr to Allah ﷻ ten years later, they came back to their place again.
In shā’a Llāh, this is – Now they are constricting and pressuring Muslims everywhere. No matter how much they constrict, eventually the Victor is Allah ﷻ. The shaytan and those with him are always in loss. As Mawlana Sheikh says, the shaytan and those with the shaytan think they won. But in the end, they will see that they didn’t win anything. They lost everything. They have no share in any goodness. They have no share in goodness in this world or the hereafter. Oppressors will have their punishment. Oppression does not come from Allah ﷻ, only punishment comes. People oppress themselves. Nobody else oppresses them. The person does it to himself. When he oppresses others, Allah ﷻ punishes him. He suffers the outcome of his actions. May Allah ﷻ be with us in shā’a Llāh. May Allah ﷻ protect Muslims.
As we see, the world everywhere exists upon oppression. Now is the end of times, the situation is that there is nothing but oppression. There is not even a bit of justice. In the past, they used to deceive people. Now they don’t even deceive people anymore. They don’t care. “Whether they fall for it or not, we will oppress. We will continue with our oppression. Let people do what they can.” Everything is in the Hand Allah ﷻ. He ﷻ will certainly punish them. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
