Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim
IMAN GIVES YOU A BEAUTIFUL LIFE
Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla says:
فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً
(Qur’ān 16:97). ‘Falanuĥyiyannahu Ĥayāatan Tayyibatan’, ‘We will surely cause him to live a good life.’ “For the people who believe in Allah ﷻ, We will let them live a beautiful life in this world and an even better life in Akhirah”, says Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla.
Allah ﷻ gives peace in the hearts of those who obey Allah ﷻ. He ﷻ gives tranquility and beauty. And to those who don’t believe in Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla, He ﷻ gives darkness and all kinds of unrest in their hearts. Those who are on the way of Allah ﷻ might say, “We are on the way of Allah ﷻ, but our hearts are not at peace. We are not happy with our lives”. There are many Muslim people who say so. Why is that? Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla: Sadaqa Allah, Sadaqa Allahu l-‘Azeem. Allah ﷻ is the one who speaks the truth. It means those people don’t believe truly. They feel uneasy since their Iman is incomplete.
People with complete Iman, their hearts are at peace. Their life in this world is “Tayyibah”, He ﷻ says. “Tayyibah” means beautiful and tranquil too. They are away from all kinds of unrest. Otherwise, you have an incompleteness, and that’s why you’re not happy with your life. “How are you?” Some of them say, “Not good at all”. Why? “Because of this and that”. It means you are not happy with Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla. That is why you don’t have peace and tranquility in your heart.
One Sahabah had come to our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. The Sahabah had a stomach ache. He ﷺ told him to drink honey syrup. The Sahabah drank it and said, “I’m still sick”. He went once again, our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam told him to drink again. The Sahabah drank it again and said again “I don’t feel better.” He came for the fourth time. And when he said the same thing, our Holy Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah ‘Azza wa-Jalla tells the truth, and your stomach is lying.” He ﷺ said, “Drink it again”. And when he drank it, his pain was gone.
This means when there is Iman, everything is good. Without Iman, or when your Iman is incomplete, there is unrest then, and your heart doesn’t have peace. Therefore, people must look inside themselves and ask, “Am I happy and content?” If you are happy, Shukr to Allah ﷻ. Make Shukr to Allah ﷻ for you have Iman then. Otherwise, pay attention to yourself. Iman is important. It is the greatest favor given to people. May Allah ﷻ increase this favor to all of us. May our hearts be at peace. May we have happiness here and hereafter insha’Allah. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.
