Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim
Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi, Sohbat of the 12th of November, 2013.
O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, O Lion that you are. Marhaba, O beloved friends of Shah-i Mardan. May we receive strength every time we speak these words, Let us receive power from our Lord. May the beloved friends of Shah-i Mardan receive power every time. May they take power from our Lord. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. That is what we wish for. We ask for power from our Lord. Madad, dastur, O rijala-llah/O Men of God, O you saints! O choice servants of Allah, the Lord of Glory, His pure servants; O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, may we be given strength to serve You, may we be granted strength.
Let us say: O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. There are hidden forces, Shaykh Mehmet Efendi. Madad. There are hidden forces belonging to our Lord Almighty. Come to us, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. Let us ask for those secret powers. There are hidden forces. The Lord of Might and Glory has secret powers. There are secret powers, we ask for those secret powers so that they might bring us closer to our Lord.
Come to us, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. Let us receive strength, O King of the World, from those secret powers. Let us take power, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, let us take power from those hidden forces. This is a sohbat. O our beloved friends, what we ask for is strength, we are not asking for trivial, third-rate things. Power with which to rule the whole wide world. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. May such power be transferred to us. We ask for strength. This is an important matter, the transmission of power, let us not be like cats, let us be as lions! Oh yes. Be a lion, don’t be a cat. O our Lord, our Subhān, our Sultān, what is befitting to Your service? Power that is pure. O our Lord, You have Existence and You are One.
O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. What we wish for is to be of service on your way. O our Lord! He appointed this service, so ask to perform it. Ask for strength to perform service, without strength nothing can be effected. Come, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. How lovely is the way of our Lord, how sweet are the roads leading to our Lord. Let us be lions upon Your way, O our Lord! Let us be strong, let us be a lion. He is the Lord, we are but servants. We are weak servants. He is our Lord, may His Glory be exalted, may His Majesty be proclaimed, our Lord of unending Grandeur. Our Lord whose Strength and Power know no end. You are Subhān, O my Lord, let us be laden with the burden of tawhīd/Allah’s Unity. Let us take that load, and let us serve with that load in the Presence of the Lord Almighty.
O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, may our strength not run out, may our love not wane, may our burning desire never become deficient. Allah, our God, let us engage more and more in Your service, O our Lord. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. You give what He asks of you, and He gives you what you wish for. He is our Lord. Let us love our Lord, let us make Allah love us by our serving His creation. May Allāhu Dhū l-Jalāl make us love our servanthood. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. Allāhu Dhū l-Jalāl whose Greatness has no bounds, O our Lord, what we ask of the beloved friends is strength, we ask for strength. Let us not be wretched, don’t be a helpless wretch. Be as a lion, O my friends, be as lions! Your Lord is He whose Glory is exalted. March like a lion in the service of your Lord.
It is Allah who gives us everything. There is nothing He does not have to give. There is nothing He does not have. Ask in the Divine Presence of Allah Almighty. He is the Lord of Honour and Glory, there is nothing that he does not own. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. Make us to be as lions by the gate of the Sultan. O my Lord, let us be as lions. We are but weak servants. He is our Lord, the Possessor and Bestower of Power. He is Subhān, He is Sultān. We are weak, hapless servants. What is it that we ask for, what? O Shah-i Mardan, ask of our Lord, according to your own condition. Allāhu Allāh, Allāhu Allāh, Allāhu Allāh, mā lī siwāhū, Allah, our God.
May our hearts expand, may they open wide. O beloved friends, ask of Allah Almighty. May our hearts open up, may they find refreshment in Your Holy Presence, O my Lord. We are striving to perform servanthood, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. When he says: Allāh, Allāh, heaven and earth tremble. When he pronounces the Name of Allah, heaven and earth begin to tremble. Come to us, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. What I ask for comes from the One and Only, He who has Existence, He who is the Only One, who is the Lord of heaven and earth. It is from Allah that I am asking. O heedless one, ask of your Lord, for He is the Lord of Might and Glory. There is no end to His majestic Glory and Grandeur. From His inexhaustible treasures, I am asking for servanthood.
Let us be servants to Allah. What are you to ask for? You are to ask of your Lord: O rich and generous Padishah, please accept us to be Your servants. O Lord, do not cast us aside. O my Lord, do not throw us out. You have unending stores of treasure; from Your endless treasure houses, grant us the honour of servanthood, O Lord. Let us know that we are servants. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. Let us be lions; be lions in the Divine Presence of our Lord. Let us be lions. Let us ask of Allah Almighty. Let us be lions in His service, let us not be like miserable cats. For He is Allah, may His Glory be exalted. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, Let us be among Your pure servants who have been cured with immortality, O our Lord. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. How lovely it is to serve You, O my Lord. How good it is to be a servant to our Lord. To ask of Him, to be with Him, how lovely, how lovely, how very lovely.
O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, come to us. Enter into servanthood. Enter into servanthood, come, O beloved friends. Ask for the favours of Shah-i Mardan. Let Him robe you in beauty. Let Him clothe you in grace and delicacy. Let your Lord robe you in nobility. Our Lord, our Lord Allah. May our Lord Almighty Allah robe you in grace and charm, so that you may be lovely and pleasing. And give to us tireless strength, O my Lord. For the sake of Your service we ask for that. We ask it of our Lord. We ask for unwearying, satisfying, untiring strength. We ask our Lord for honour. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, let us not become weary or exhausted, let us not grow fed up and bored. This is the path of Truth, you have been created for that. Ask for this, ask your Lord for this. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, let this be our desire.
May our Lord fill us with His love, may He fill us with burning love for Him. May our Lord burden us with faith. Faith. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. Let us not grow weary. He who tires, his business is over. Don’t grow tired. Don’t weary in Allah’s way, be refreshed. Find relief. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. We are sitting here with our brothers who are believers. That is what we wish for. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, may our hearts expand and open wide. May they have joy, and may they find relief. Let us fill with love and ardour, saying Allah. One who is filled with love and ardour can do anything. O Allah You who created heavens and earth, it is Allah who does what He wants. We ask of You, what we ask for is servanthood. We ask for the honour of servanthood, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan.
Let us not grow weary. Do not tire on the way of Truth. Say: Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. You will not grow tired, you will not tire. Say: Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim. How lovely, how very lovely to say: Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim, how lovely that is. Let us not grow tired. Let us not grow tired in the Presence of our Lord. May our ardent love increase, let us not grow tired. For He is our Lord, and we are His servants. We are weak servants. How lovely it is to be seeking Divine Light, how lovely, how sweet. O our Lord. Ask for the good things. Ask for love and fervour, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. Such a number of prophets have come and gone. All of them are Lovers of the Sacred and Divine. All of them are full and loaded with love and fervour.
May Allah Almighty load faith upon us, may He load us with the honour of faith. Let us be like lions in His Presence. In His Presence, don’t be like a wretched cat. Be like a lion. Destroy Shaytan, destroy his works, O Shah-i Mardan. How lovely it is to sit with you and engage in conversation. Let us be refreshed. May we too be burdened with faith. May love and fervour be laden upon us. That we ask for, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. It is Allah who has Power over all things. It is our Lord who has Power to do all things, may His Glory be exalted. Come, O beloved friends, ask of your Lord, ask fervent love of your Lord. Ask for it. May He grant you love and ardour, may He give you love and affection. Before Your Beauty, O Lord, the whole universe bows in prostration, O Lord. Let us always prostrate in Your Holy Presence, O our Lord. O Shah-i Mardan, please teach us.
May love and ardour, may love and ardour be dressed upon us. Let us put on the robes of love and ardour. O beloved friends, it is this that we want, we truly want. May you find refreshment. May you find refreshment in the Presence of your Lord. May your eyes and your heart open up wide. This is a short sohbat. Take from this short sohbat the jewels contained in it. Ask of your Lord those precious jewels that astounded and confounded even the prophets. O Lord, You are Subhān, You are Sultān. Let us not be as miserable cats, let us be instead as roaring lions. Come to us, O our Lord. Roaring lions are befitting to Your Divine Presence. Be like a lion! Don’t be like a wretched pussy cat, be like a lion. Ask for this, ask of the Lord, my son. He gives so many, many things. Allah Allah.
O our Lord, fill us up with love. Fill us up with ardent desire. Dress upon us that Divine Grace of which we can never get enough, O Lord. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, Whoever begins in the Name of Allah, Allah will make all things easy for him. Remember the Name of Allah, and He will make everything easy for you. May He open for you the gates to all things. Whoever speaks not the Name of Allah is rubbish. Search. Search for love and longing. Ask for love and longing of your Lord. This whole world has no value. Grant us a sword, O Lord, with a sharp cutting edge. We ask for a sword that will cut and destroy our lower self and its base desires. He who is Your servant, is standing in Your Presence every moment; we are servants. Heavens and earth belong to Him. He has no need of heaven and earth. No. It is the servant who is in need. That is what servanthood is.
O Lord, do not withhold from us the crown of servanthood. Ask, so that you might receive the crown of servanthood. It is the highest rank, for men and for women. Let us begin in the Name of Allah, this is imperative for every servant. Draw the sword, draw the sword of being a servant of Allah; O our Lord, no one can stand in the face of Your Might, Your Grandeur. There is no good that You will not give, You can give anything. Give to us, too, O Lord. Let us have beauty and goodness. Ask of our Lord beauty and goodness. Ask Him for honour. Ask Him for the robe of distinction which He dresses upon His servants. Allah who created heaven and earth. Allah who gives to whom He wills what He wills. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, ask for the crown of servanthood to be set upon your head. That is the aim, that is the intention. That our Lord might dress upon us the crown of servanthood. How lovely that is, how very lovely, to put on the crown of servanthood.
O our Lord, You are Subhān, You are Sultān. You have Power over all things. What we ask for is Your Approval, O our Lord. O our Lord, in Your Divine Presence there is none who is weak. In Your Divine Presence there are only the strong, the powerful. Ask for strength, give to us, O my Lord. Give us strength, so that we might be as lions. Let us be as lions on Your way. O our Lord, our Subhān, our Sultān, it is You who have created heaven and earth. It is You who have created the sun of daylight. Know this, learn about it. Know. There are many stories, Shaykh Mehmet Efendi, there are many stories. At the beginning of a story you must say: Bismillahi r- Rahmani r-Rahim. At the beginning of this tale we spoke these words, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. There are many pleasing words. There are many words that give us power, that give us nobility. They are countless. Wherever you may look, take from there grace, beauty, honour.
He is our Lord, our Subhān, ask Him for honour, ask for honour. O our Lord, it is You who grants honour. It is You who grants power and might. It is You who grants to us as You will, so that nothing old remains with us. Everything we have, let it be new and fresh let everything we have be new. Everything we undertake is fresh and new. What we ask of our Lord is new; fresh faith fresh favour, a brand-new, honourable gown of faith. Ask for this at all times, may He dress you in a new one. The seven heavens watch for His Favour. The seven heavens wait for His Favour. Let us ask for it, let us ask for it. Allah loves those who ask, He doesn’t love those who do not ask. O beloved friends, O Shah-i Mardan, Make your wish known. Allah Almighty approves of the one who asks. Allah does not want those who ask for nothing, ask! Ask, He will give you so many things, so many things.
O our Lord, we are but weak servants. According to the state of our weakness, we wait for Your gifts, for Your Divine Favours, O Lord. Do not leave us in our weakness, O Lord. May we be strong, may we have power. May we be strong and pure in Your Divine Presence. O our Lord, our Subhān, our Sultān. Do not make us weak. May our strength increase, O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan. al-Fātiha. May your heart be filled with love, Shaykh Mehmet Efendi. Have no fear, have no fear. He is our Lord, we shall love Him. He is in our hearts, we shall keep Him in our hearts. Love and respect for Him shall find its place in our hearts.
Marhaba, O believers, O you servants of Allah, who is Latif/fine and subtle, you also be subtle. Be a Sultān. Don’t be of the contemptible of this earth. Clear up. Allah is the Possessor and Bestower of Power. It is Allah who gives what He wills to whom He wills. Amruhu bayna l-kāf wa n-nūn. His command is between [the letters] kāf and nūn. Come to us, O Shah-i Mardan, may our hearts weep from intense love and longing. Whatever our Lord may wish or desire, whatever He wills. O our Lord, O our Lord, our Subhān, our Sultān.
al-Fātiha.
