Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim
On April 26 2011 after zuhr, Mawlana gave a very important address to all Muslims and non-Muslims. Mawlana asked for this sohbat to be presented properly and translated adequately. “You Will Not Pass except with a Sultan – (55:33) لا تنفذون “إلا بسلطان

Sultan ul Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi (QS), 23 Jumādā al-Ūlā, 1432 A.H. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 Translated from Arabic by saltanat.org

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar wa ila il hamd. Alfu Salat aleyka ya RasulAllah wala … The master of beginning and end. The most beloved Prophet (ﷺ), beloved by Allah Almighty. Your nation now needs a way to open for them.
Audhu billahi minna shaytani rajjim. Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim.
What does it mean – the word Ta´wil (interpretation)? What is written? Which meaning is given to the word Ta´wil? I am asking.
Shaykh Hisham reading from the dictionary: [The meaning is:] the interpretation of the subject under consideration with reference to its aim, to refer the word or the subject to the aim or the target. You refer or interpret the meaning according to the subject that is in hand. …about knowledge and action… interpretation, to interpret …
There is a word, that does not need interpretation. We understand interpretation, what it means, but there are words that do not need and cannot carry any interpretation.
SH: In English it is called ‘literally’. So it is a word without interpretation.
The word ‘Allah’ cannot carry interpretation, and ‘Sultan’ can also not carry an interpretation, it is clear. Audhubillahi minna shaytani rajim.
We want to speak a few words now, that are extremely important, of great importance, because now, especially in our times, people like to interpret everything according to their own opinion. We don’t accept such things. Asta´idu Billah. There is nothing (wet or dry) that is not in the Book. Everything possible – everything – is made clear in the holy Qur’an. There is nothing (wet or dry) that is not found in the holy Qur’an.
Read. From Suratul Rahman, read.
Ya maAAshara aljinni waalinsi ini istataAAtum an tanfuthoo min aqtari alssamawati waalardi faonfuthoo la tanfuthoona illa biSultanin (55:33)
[Mawlana continues with discussing the word ‘Sultan’ being interpreted as ‘power of knowledge’.] *
Yes, that’s it. This is the point that we are looking for. That no one, no scholar up till now has mentioned the word ‘Sultan’. This is the point that we are about to talk about. That’s what we are about to talk now. The word ‘Sultan’ – can it carry interpretation? – no! Why are they interpreting it to be knowledge? Because they are devils. Now look. Do they have any right to interpret the word ‘Sultan’ as ‘knowledge’?
Asta´idubillah.
Ya maAAshara aljinni waalinsi ini istataAAtum an tanfuthoo min aqtari alssamawati waalardi faonfuthoo la tanfuthoona illa biSultanin (55:33)
Oh Mankind and Jinn, if you can pass through the earth or through the skies, you will not pass through, except with a Sultan. (55:33)
Glory to Allah Almighty. He is The Sultan. ‘Illa bi Sultan’ – only with a Sultan. Allah Almighty … The holy Qur’an: in it is the news of what passed, and what is in the future. Yes, isn’t it like this?

In this holy verse, it is giving a sign to, or mentioning, what happened in the past, and what is coming in the future. It means (a meaning that nobody tackled or nobody touched up until this day) that there will be a time that will come on this nation when they will be suffering. They will be in hard times. They will be in troubles. There is a word – alazma (crisis). The nation wants to come out of this crisis. This is news of the future. Not the past. A crisis that will come, will happen in the future. Oh Mankind and Jinn, if you can go through the earth and the levels of skies, go through; but you cannot go through. People will suffer, and will go through a situation that is hard. They will look for a way out of this crisis, and they will search and they will want to escape from such hard times, either disappearing into the skies or under the layers of earth.
Asta´idu Billah. Oh Mankind and Jinn. If you can go through the layers of earth and skies … Why? Why would they want to pass through, to escape either into the skies or under earth? They would want this to save themselves from the crisis, from the hardness, the troubles and the hardship, because they wish to escape from this world and they are looking and searching to find a way out [either upwards or downwards], to come out and save ourselves from this crisis and hardship. We can dig into earth and we may go under earth, to save ourselves from such a crisis. What is Allah Almighty saying, you can never go through the layers of earth or the skies, except with a Sultan. That’s it. There is no other way for the people on earth to save themselves or to come out of the crisis, except with a Sultan. There must be a Sultan with you!
… not democracy, not depocracy – no!
The one who rejects the words of Allah Almighty is kafir. He is not believing in Allah or His Prophet (ﷺ). And their place is in hell. This is our fatwa. The people of truth. Therefore, when Mahdi (alayhi s-salam) appears, he is the Sultan. For any country that does not have a sultan, their crisis will have no beginning or end to it. This is the way of safety, this is the way to safety, that Allah Almighty pointed. Do you understand, or not? Sultan, the word ‘Sultan’, is there any need to interpret it? Finished.

All the interpretation or the narration, it is mentioning the ‘power of knowledge’. No one knows the meaning of ‘Sultan’ if they are actually interpreting it in such a way, and the Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned in his tradition, “A Sultan is the Divine shadow on earth.” The Sultan is the Divine shadow on earth. ‘Sultan’, there is no need for interpreting it. Why are they saying it is the power of knowledge? Your knowledge (or technology) has reached its peak. It finished you. It wiped you out.
What is Allah Almighty saying about the ‘power of knowledge’ that you think you should use it? See if you can save yourself from a tsunami [with the power of knowledge]. Save yourselves from earthquakes, from volcanoes. Save yourselves from storms, hurricanes, the earth’s tornadoes. Save yourselves, let’s see! If the power of knowledge can save you, go ahead, oh pimps!
[SH questions the use of that word.]
No, it is fitting to use such words for them. They don’t understand, and they don’t accept anyone to speak the truth, this is the truth! I am not an Arab, and my mother tongue is not Arabic. It’s Turkish, and my understanding springs from my mother tongue. But they made me understand the meaning of the word ‘Sultan’, and why it is used. For what is it used? – “except with a Sultan”. You must admit it, in spite of your will.
You must bring a Sultan, oh people of Egypt, people of Libya, people of Tunisia, people of Algeria, Turkish people, people of Syria, people in Iraq, in Sudan, in Iran, all of you. You must bring a Sultan. If you don’t bring a Sultan, there is no way out for you, and Allah will wipe you out. No one is giving such a fatwa or speaking in such words.
SH: Everyone speaks about the power of knowledge.
That’s why they gave me such an association, to speak.
SH: …technology …
Show me the power of your knowledge. If knowledge is a Sultan, use it to save yourself then! Allah Almighty made a Sultan on the face of earth as His shadow. Obey Allah Almighty, and obey His Prophet, and obey those who are ruling you. And Allah made the Sultan His shadow on earth, to rule amongst the people. Allah Almighty orders you. Allah orders justice and charity. This is the description of a Sultan – goodness, charity. They left this, and they fell into the crisis that has no beginning and no end. SadaqAllahul azim. Finished. We do not want anything more. Fatiha.
It is perfect. It’s perfect. They have sealed it and stamped it.
SH: … because this speech is general, for Mankind and for Jinn. They left no one out.
Of course. SadaqAllahul Azim. Thanks to Allah Almighty. [Mawlana prays two rakaats.]
The one who objects to this is an unbeliever. He is described to be unbeliever, by the four holy books. He is kafir, according to the four holy books. I am going to ask this fatwa from Azhar, a fatwa from the scholars of Azhar. If they do not give such a fatwa, they are a silent shaytan. Whosoever covers or hides the truth, and does not admit the truth, is a silent shaytan. We have declared this by their [heavenly sources] order. How many days this is coming to my heart? And the conclusion is this sohbat.
When Shaykh Hisham Efendi said, that he is invited, by the Sultan in Morocco, he asked, “What should I speak?” This address is for that purpose. You should present this to His Majesty. Those who object to this, a curse may come on them, here and hereafter. They will be defeated. And their final station will be in hell. Finished. There is no one, that can have an objection to this.
SH: You are the Sultan for Sharia and Haqiqa.
No, the Sultan is the shadow of Allah on earth. This is not a simple matter. This is not a joke – no! [They say,] “We want election! We are asking democracy!” Shit on you! Shit on democracy. And the one who sides with democracy, and does not accept the holy verse, your grave will be in hell 70 arm lengths deep in dirtiness. We ask forgiveness and we repent to Allah Almighty.
Of course, first I asked permission by praying two Rak’at. No, it is not good for us [to speak] without asking and seeking permission. This is a declaration for all people, asking for a Sultan. It is not a simple matter.
*Various well-known English translations of Surah Rahman 33 (55:33) and the official Turkish translation include:
