In this short but exquisite sohbah Mawlana gently provides a metaphor for understanding how it is that Allah ﷻ is with us and how we can be with Him ﷻ.

Being together with you like this, because we are from the same kind, one can say, “we are together with you”. And then there’s being together with Allah.
Allah is not a human being. He’s not something from our mind imagination. How to be together with Allah? He’s with us, no doubt. But how will we be with Him? Then, at the same time, there’s the sun in the sky. Sun is the ray from Janab-ul Haqq’s light. When its time is given, because its light is visible, seven planets see it. They turn together around it. They are together with it. Now those seven planets, if that light is not shown, they can’t move from their places; they can’t receive light either. That’s why, Allah is with us. But when we talk about ourselves…
No doubt, He’s with us. But how will we be with Him? Just like sun, Allah has servants who represent His light. People walk around with that possessor of light. They are together with Allah. Together with Allah. If he’s not there, people will fall into emptiness. They are in darkness. They don’t know where to walk. They don’t know where to go. They are in black darkness. If there’s no sun, it’s all black, dark black. No planet can either be seen nor see anything. That light of Allah became visible in the sun. They understood that they are with Allah.
Now all of saints have light. All of them have light, because Allah Jalla wa ‘Ala sent both the Book to our Master and light. If He hadn’t given light, nothing could be seen. Our Master wouldn’t be seen, sahaba wouldn’t see him, and nothing would be seen of the sahaba. It would be darkness.
From time to time, when people have lost their way in that darkness time, a prophet is sent. They are opened with light then. People start to see their way. Between the Prophet of the End of Times and Prophet Jesus, 530 years or 570 years, shortly. Close to 6 centuries have passed. The world has become dark again. Our Master was given light. Our Master was seen with Divine light. The world has sparkled. It still does and will continue until Judgment day, till eternity.
That’s why, I’m telling for a few nights: Is Allah here? No doubt, Allah is here. No doubt, Allah is here with us. He’s here. But Allah is not from our kind. We can see the creatures of our kind with our eyes. If we touch, we can feel them; we can see them, we can know. Because of our togetherness, we are sitting together.
How do you sit together with Allah? Whoever has the light of Allah in him – that person represents Allah. Once with him, you are with Allah. Zid Habibaka Izzan wa Sharafa wa Nura bi hurmati l-Habib bi hurmati l-Fatiha.
