Lucky Who Follow Him

Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh (q) had only two murīds. His teaching he gave to Shaykh Nāẓim (q) who in turn gave it to the whole world. Anyone else who claims they have directly from Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh (q) has no adab, spreads misunderstanding, and has lost.

As-Salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatu Llāhi wa-barakātuh. 

A‘ūdhu bi-Llāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Aṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-awwalīna wa-l-ākhirīn. Madad yā Rasūla Llāh, madad yā Sādātī Aṣḥābi Rasūli Llāh, madad yā Mashāyikhanā, dastūr Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistānī, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatuna ṣ-ṣuḥbah, wa-l-khayru fi l-jam’iyyah. 

Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim all this half century, for more than fifty years, served the Ummah by showing the way of our Prophet ﷺ. He did everything for Allāh ﷻ. He did not do anything for his ego.

Shukr to Allāh ﷻ, Mawlānā accepted us here again. It is a great favour, great kindness from Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla to be in the presence of Awliyā’, to be with them. Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim all this half century, for more than fifty years, served the Ummah by showing the way of our Prophet ﷺ. He did everything for Allāh ﷻ. He did not do anything for his ego. There was no change from his youth till his old age. Some people change. They become like this or that. A change… You should be constant, to change is not an attribute of men. When a man makes a promise, he should stick to it. Also people should know the value. 

There are some people who always ask for more and more. They do this in everything. You follow ṭarīqah. Who are in ṭarīqah do this not in order to become Awliyā’ but in order to be a servant of Allāh ﷻ, to be a beloved servant. Allāh’s ﷻ Awliyā’ are also Allāh’s ﷻ beloved servants. But some people with their egos… Ego always destroys. They say, “I will be more. I will do more. I am a murīd of Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim.” And when you say, “I am a murīd of Grandshaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī who is even higher,” then you loose. Then you are neither a murīd, nor a servant, nor a beloved servant of Allāh ﷻ. You are like Iblīs. 

Someone was saying the other day there were tape recordings of Grandshaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī and someone took all of them. He was asking to find them. Don’t find them. When you say that, as we said, a man should watch his mouth. The person who said that is a good man, may Allāh ﷻ be pleased with him. He is a pure person. But people have mixed it up so that they want more. Instead of making shukr to Allāh ﷻ… We were with Quṭbu z-Zamān, three years, five, ten, twenty years. Some were with him for forty, fifty years. Instead of making shukr to Allāh ﷻ he is spoiling everything. 

Every Awliyā’ has his character. And murīds have to carry that character. Only two men understood Grandshaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī. Two men understood him and spread light to the world. With his barakah, with his ṣuḥbahs, with ṣuḥbahs they understood the world became enlightened. People joined this way and got faith. They found Islām and guidance. Others did it. Allāh ﷻ forbid, there is not a label they did not call us by. This is the difference. This is the difference between Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim and others. When Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim and Grandshaykh ‘Abdu Llāh say something, it’s alright. When someone else says something, it’s not alright. Until now, anyone who jumps over and above Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim saying they connect with Grandshaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī, they do not fall into guidance but misguidance. 

Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim was a rare man. A man like him comes once in a hundred years.

By the wisdom of Allāh ﷻ there were hundreds of recordings of Grandshaykh ‘Abdu Llāh. A year after his passing all of them were burned. Nothing remained. Where are they? They are in Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim’s heart. He transmitted them to you. For forty, fifty years from this maqām he addressed the whole world and spoke about them. Why are you interfering in something you don’t understand? When you interfere, it becomes fitnah. It’s not good but bad. Therefore, we should know the value of our Shaykh. Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim was a rare man. A man like him comes once in a hundred years. Because all knowledges were spread with his way. Of course Grandshaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī is Sulṭānu l-Awliyā’. His guidance was through the heart and he left guidance for Ākhirah as well. And he used to send Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim out to show guidance during his life, to show the right way. He would send Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim to East and West, everywhere. He was a Shaykh since that time. So that service was not for fifty, but sixty years Mawlānā was showing guidance. 

Therefore, when speaking, people should be careful. You should act with adab. You should keep your adab. Adab with Allāh ﷻ comes first and then our Prophet ﷻ and then with mashāyikh and our Shaykh. Therefore, we wanted to talk about it. Because people always show themselves bigger in order to attract more people thinking it is a good thing. It is wrong. It is not right. It is not from ṭarīqah. Not from ṭarīqah’s methods and adab. May Allāh ﷻ teach us adab. May we know the value of what we have and be grateful. What we have in ṭarīqah, there is not even one in a thousand as lucky in this world. One in ten thousand, one in a hundred thousand there may or may not be. They find a jewel and then lose it. We have to be thankful. We should stick to this way. Don’t obey your ego. Be content. More than just content, be thankful. You are content for little. But Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave us the biggest, the highest, the best. And your ego is trying to destroy it, trying to take what you have. 

May Allāh ﷻ protect us. 

We are thanking Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla for His ﷻ good gift for us, what He ﷻ gives us. We are in presence of Mawlānā Shaykh here and we are his follower. It is real big gift from Allāh ﷻ for us. But people, they want every time more and more and more. I know one, no, if even I say his name, but no no need, will be not many people, they don’t know him. He was saying, “I am jumping from [over] Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim. Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh, when he see me, “O My son where are you? I was waiting for you, ages. Where are you?” After he said, his maqām is more than even Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh. After he become more and – like maqām of Prophet ﷺ. I say, “Stop, after this you will be like God,” if I let him to continue. 

This is ego. Ego make you want more and more and when you see do this, you lose what you have. Because what we have, we have Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim, The biggest awliyā’ maybe in 100 years. He is… Lucky for people who follow him. But people, who our… must what we want to be when you come ṭarīqah – to be servant for Allāh ﷻ, loved one for Allāh ﷻ. They beginning like this, but after they said must be awliyā’u Llāh. Awliyā’u Llāh it is also meaning beloved one for Allāh ﷻ, but their aim [is to be] awliyā’u Llāh who make miracle, make thing people attract for him. But our main aim – to be servant for Allāh ﷻ, obey for Allāh ﷻ. This is aim for who coming to ṭarīqah. And when Allāh ﷻ give him happy, to be happy there, his ego not become satisfied. Said, “No, look, Shaykh Nāẓim, he was follower of Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī, so we are also same, or no need to listen for him, we also listen from Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī qaddasa Llāhu sirrahu so we are better than other murīd.” When you say this, you are finish because you are making bad adab. 

Because Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī he give Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim 7700 suḥbah when only by himself. Nobody was [there], even three people not be. But Mawlānā Shaykh from his love and his knowing what value for Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī, he was writing and listening and doing everything. After come many people. But people they couldn’t take what Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim had. Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad- Dāghistānī say, “I have, I had only two murīd in my life and it was real.” Everyday we coming now, we feel this. Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī he was only two murid – one Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim Ḥaqqānī and one Shaykh Ḥusayn from ‘Afrīn. This two people they given good understanding for Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī. Other they from… These two – Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim and Mawlānā Shaykh Ḥusayn – they make light, spread light in world, and the happiness and hidāyah and every good thing. Thousand, ten thousand, millions people coming for hidāyah from their way. 

Nobody, from other who claiming they was with Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh, they make the worst. Even, many time they not understanding Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī and they spreading what they wrong understanding. They make problem for ṭarīqah, for Mawlānā, for everybody in ṭarīqah. And for people who are attacking, because attacking what they saw, what they read, but not knowing what Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim saying what he, how he is explain this. So it is not good to say, “I am more understanding. I am like Shaykh Nāẓim. I was murīd of Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī.” When you say this, you are finish, you are nothing. Maybe you think yourself something but really you are finish and you will be… I don’t think Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh be happy with you or Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam happy with you, or Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim happy with you. Because you are following your ego, your self. 

And Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh was, he has, qaddasa Llāhu sirrahu, many miracle, many very strong… but he left his irshād for Ākhirah. For dunyā he was, then his time even, Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim going for irshād, from East to West to everywhere by order of Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī. So, even the most crowd time it is not like even like here. Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh, because he is for Ākhirah looking, for but not for dunyā. So Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim, he was 60 year going around, making irshād, making this. But people they are knowing his value, but some people not knowing his value. This is bad adab because they thought, “We are more better for us to follow, we are murīd of Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh.” And they don’t know his way – only one way – but we need adab. And one of biggest miracle for Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī qaddasa Llāhu sirrahu he has record maybe three, four hundred or five hundred record cassette for his voice, he giving suḥbah. After he pass away, after one year, all burn. Even no one left. This is also big miracle because people not understanding. Who understanding, all burn – hundreds of cassette all burned. 

Not pity. Why not pity? Because all this not lost, not finished. It was coming to heart of Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim – better to understanding and for people to be not to confuse. This is one of miracles of Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh ad-Dāghistānī. And people they said, “Oh there was cassette, I hear there is one in somebody take from here, somebody take from there.” No need to be pity. We must be happy you find the source of ṭarīqah, who hundred years you cannot find, you be with Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim. And he is still, his irshād going on. Everywhere from East to West from North to South. We must be careful what we are doing, this. Everywhere since, Mawlānā from his adab, he didn’t say anything, but I know he is not happy with people what they was saying. Because they don’t know him. 

So Allāh ﷻ give us good adab and to, good understanding. The value what we had with Mawlānā and he is still, al-hamdu liLlāh, continuing with his karāmah – thousands of people coming without knowing him at all, from dream, from inspiration, to way of his Ṭarīqah and hidāyah. We are thanking Allāh ﷻ what we have this luck, because very few people they have this luck from hundred thousand, thousand, or one. Very few people in this world they have this luck. So thank You for Allāh ﷻ and Allāh ﷻ make us to know value and give His ﷻ barakah all time, in shā’a Llāh.
