Allāh ﷻ sent 124,000 prophets to clean people and bring them to the light. They are the highest of human beings. They never tired or got bored. We must follow their example and not be lazy or distracted by what others think.

As-Salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatu Llāhi wa-barakātuh.
A‘ūdhu bi-Llāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Aṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-awwalīna wa-l-ākhirīn. Madad yā Rasūla Llāh, madad yā Sādātī Aṣḥābi Rasūli Llāh, madad yā Mashāyikhanā, dastūr Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistānī, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatuna ṣ-ṣuḥbah, wa-l-khayru fi l-jam’iyyah.
Why did Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla send the prophets? What did the prophets ‘alayhimu s-salām do? Their work was to save people from their sins; to protect them from hell. All their worry and concern were with saving people from hell, and to get them to go to paradise. Certainly, the prophets had their own duties, their own worldly work. Each and every prophet ‘alayhimu s-salām had different work. There were 124,000 prophets sent by Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. All of them had worldly things to do. But their real work was to guide people and make them suitable for paradise. This was their duty. They wanted to take people out of the dirtiness of kufr, make them reach īmān, and bring them, clean, to the presence of Allāh ﷻ. This was what they did without getting tired, bored or fed up, and without fear of anyone. They carried out their duty in the best and the most perfect way.
No other people can do what they did. The prophets have the highest rank in the presence of Allāh ﷻ. Their ranks are unreachable. But they can be imitated. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam said, “The scholars of my ummah are like the prophets of the Banī Isrā’īl.” They have reached a similarly high rank. But the prophets are innocent. They are free from mistakes. They do what Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla wants of them, and He ﷻ doesn’t let them commit a sin. They made mistakes sometimes but not sin. Mistakes and sins are different.
For example, Nūḥ ‘alayhi s-salām served for 900 years without getting tired, all while ignoring the ridicule of his people.
As we said, the prophets never lagged in their duties. For example, Nūḥ ‘alayhi s-salām served for 900 years without getting tired, all while ignoring the ridicule of his people. He was always showing the way to guidance until there was no more hope, and Allāh ﷻ saved him. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla saved him, and He ﷻ destroyed the rest. It happened like that most of the time. Because the prophets have such a high rank that when they were sent to people and people didn’t accept them as they should have, they deserved punishment. As for that, the rank of the prophets cannot be reached. No one can reach it. They did their duty in the best way. When Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla gave them this rank, He ﷻ gave their rewards accordingly.
Some of them had no ummah. Meaning, you don’t see a prophet having hundreds or millions of followers. Some of them had an ummah of three to five people. When a prophet is sent, those who follow him become his ummah. Their ummah is different from the people to whom they were sent. An ummah is those people who are on the way of Allāh ﷻ. Therefore, may Allāh ﷻ be pleased with them. May their barakah be upon us, in shā’a Llāh. They are a light for us. When we remember them, their light reaches us.
We saying for prophets, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla sent them. Maybe some people asking what they was doing; what they, why they coming; what their job. Their job not to be manager, to be like this, like that. First, their job, to take their nation, or who following them, from hell to paradise. This is the most important job for anyone, to save human beings from badness, from bad people, from bad way, from dirty way. To clean them and to put them with good people, with light way, with way of Prophet ﷺ, way of Allāh ﷻ, way of paradise. This is their job.
Of course, they have also for normal life with people. Because they are not asking money from people, they also, they have work. And they have their, can afford for them to live. Each one have a different profession. Some of them, like Sayyidunā Idrīs, he was tailor. Sayyidunā Dāwūd he was like a blacksmith. Sayyidunā Ibrāhīm has also sheep. And each one, 124,000 they was prophets, each one they have for themself something not to ask from people. Because prophets they are highest between human being. In Divine Presence of Allāh ﷻ they are highest. Nobody can reach them: no ‘ālim, no awliyā’, no ṣaḥābah. Each one they have a very high. But can be similar to them, like Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam saying: ” ‘Ulamā’u ummatī ka-anbiyā’i Banī Isrā’īl.” “My ummah scholar look like prophet of Banī Isrā’īl.” Similar, this.
But highest place for between human beings – this is prophets. So they cannot be not doing thing and asking, begging from people. No, they have their thing to live, and to make da‘wah for calling people for Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. And they was doing this very well. They was hard working to make people, to prevent people from hell. To bring them to paradise. And they was doing this not looking for – “These people they will be angry these people they will not be happy I am tired, I am ill.” No, they was all time doing this.
For this, we are also, we must be, take them as example. Don’t be bored, don’t be lazy for what you doing. You continue. Don’t look for people who are not happy with you.
And some of them of course can have many people. Some of them they don’t have anyone, no nation. Nation for prophet must be who following him. Maybe some of them have four, five one. One of them maybe two. One, maybe three people. These prophets, there was nation for them this. Because they sent by Allāh ﷻ for this city or for this village. And who follows with him, he follows Prophet ﷺ. But of course, after Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wasallam, no prophet. So we, after Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, we have billions of nation of Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Sayyidunā ‘Īsá also they have. But all, some of these prophets, they have none. But they was not sitting in house and saying, “Nobody want to look for us, to listen for us.” They was going every day without tired, without bored. They was going.
This is their mission Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla give for them, this high state. They was doing this until they pass away. For this, we are also, we must be, take them as example. Don’t be bored, don’t be lazy for what you doing. You continue. Don’t look for people who are not happy with you. You do your thing and you will be rewarded, in shā’a Llāh, as these prophets also, in shā’a Llāh.
Allāh ﷻ ‘alayhimu s-salām, Allāh ﷻ bless them, and in shā’a Llāh, we meet them in jannah, in shā’a Llāh. Wa-min Allāhi t-tawfīq, al-Fātiḥah.
