Sayings of Ghawth Al Azam Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al Jilani ق

”Who does not follow the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم, taking his Law (Shari’ah) in one hand and the Book (Qur’an) that was revealed to him in the other hand, and who does not attain to by his path (Tariq) to Allah عزوجل, will perish and perish, will go astray and go astray. They are two guides to the Lord of Truth (Almighty and Glorious is He). The Qur’an is your guide to the Lord of Truth (Almighty and Glorious is He), and the Sunnah is your guide to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم.”

Your condition must always be either a tribulation or a blessing. If a trial, endure it with perseverance. If a blessing, then be grateful.

“Do not be dissatisfied with what destiny brings. No one can turn it back or prevent it from taking place. Everything will come to pass regardless of who is satisfied and who is not. Your involvement in this world requires the right intention, otherwise you will be hated. In all your affairs say: There is no might or strength but by Allah, the High, the Great (lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāhi al‐‘Alīyī al‐‘Adhīm). Appoint one hour for this world, one hour for the hereafter, one hour for yourself, one hour for your family, and all of the remaining hours for your Lord.”
Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani رحمه الله تعالى Jila’ al-Khatir, Purification of the Mind p.53

“The heart receives energy from remembrance (zikr of Allah) and becomes alive, not only alive in this world, but alive forever in the hereafter.”
– Al-Sheikh Sayyiduna Abdul Qadir Jilani al-Hasani wal-Husayni (RA)

“Listen to your heart and not your ego. Your ego prompts you to boast of vain assertions to obtain the glory of this world. Turn away from vanity and seek Him in the recesses of your heart and soul”

Sayyiduna al Ghawth al A’ azam Shaykh ‘Abd ul Qadir Al Gilani (may Allah have mercy upon him) said:
The heart is the plantation for the Aakhirah (Hereafter). Sow the seeds of Imaan in your heart. Irrigate, fertilise and mature it with regular good deeds. If there is kindness and energy in the heart it will be fertile and an abundant harvest will result. Should the heart be harsh and contemptuous, the soul becomes infertile and barren and no crop will be able to grow. Learn this art of farming by its farmers/experts, the Awliya Allah. Do not think your opinion to be sufficient. Our Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) says, Seek help in every field from an expert in that field.
