At Dawn

Wake up. In the hour before dawn the Roses of the Throne bloom, the heavenly nightingales sing. Smell the fragrance, hear the song. Become refreshed and rejoice and be beautiful. Receive the honor given you by your Lord and praise and exalt Him only. Leave the world and its filth that gives you nothing. Do not be asleep.

Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim

Sultan ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani An-Naqshibandi ق ,

Sohbat of the 13th of September, 2013

Come, O Shah-i Mardan, this field is yours. Mā shā’ Allāhu kāna wa mā lam yashā’ lam yakūn. Dastur, O Shah-i Mardan, your Lovers are in awe of you. We have reached the blessed day of Jum‘a/Friday. This Jum‘a has also brought us the blessings of the month of Shawwāl. Come, O Shah-i Mardan, your beloved friends are enthralled by you. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, may we too be supplied with spiritual bounty from your blessings. O beloved servants of Allah! May your hearts be imbued with light. May your faces be granted light so that they radiate pure light. May you have no troubles or worry. Come to us, O Shah-i Mardan.

Today is Friday, the day of the Jum‘a prayer. On this blessed day, Divine manifestations are refreshed.

Today is Friday, the day of the Jum‘a prayer. On this blessed day, Divine manifestations are refreshed. O our Lord, our Subhān, our Sultān. Grant strength to this weak lover of yours, so that he might honour you, O Shah-i Mardan. Let us take our place so that we might give reverence to our Lord and His Beloved. O blessed Lovers of the Divine, O you blessed people! Come, O Shah-i Mardan. Your Lovers stand in awe of you. May we also be dressed with some of the blessings of this holy day.

There is no end to the gracious bounty of our Lord Almighty. In the Presence of our Lord there is nothing that is old or stale. Everything is fresh and new. In the Presence of our Lord there is nothing ugly. Everything is beautiful. Come to us, O Shah-i Mardan. Your Lovers are in awe of you. Let us say: Bismillahi r-Rahmān, ar-Rahmāni r-Rahīm. O our Lord, let it be renewed, refreshed. Let our bodies and our hearts be filled with light. Let us say: Bismillahi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm. Come, O Shah-i Mardan. So many, many things exist in this world. There is nothing in the world that is old. Allah Almighty constantly offers mankind things that are new. He offers them fresh and new bounty and grace. Try to take hold of some of that grace. O Lovers of Shah-i Mardan, ask for what is beautiful, so that He might give you beauty. And ask for perfection that He might grant it to you. Ask for high and exalted ranks, ask for kindness. There is no end to the kindness of Allāhu Dhū l-Jalāl. There is no end to the variety of His gifts.

Nightingales sing at the hour before dawn, saying: Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm. They are sending fervent love to the Lovers of Shah-i Mardan.

O our Lord. Roses blossom at the hour before dawn, singing ‘Allah’ again and again; Nightingales sing before the hour of dawn, saying ‘Allah’ again and again. Why, then, are you still asleep? Say: Allah – jalla jalāluhu Say it, for the sake of the roses that blossom in the seven heavens in the hour before dawn, for the sake of the nightingales’ song! O man, you must be filled with love and ardour. Do not regard this wicked world. This lower world is wicked and ugly, it is not beautiful. O our Lord, dastūr. Dastūr, O Shah-i Mardān. Your Lovers are in awe of you. Let us say: Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm. How lovely! He who says Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm, will experience no worry or distress. Nightingales sing at the hour before dawn, saying: Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm. They are sending fervent love to the Lovers of Shah-i Mardan.

We are human beings, we have honour; our Lord Almighty has given us honour. Be mindful of your honour. This world gives man no honour. A person who seeks honour in this world is good for nothing. This world gives man no honour. Bear this in mind. Honour for mankind descends from the heavens. Tūbā lahum – Happiness to them. How lovely they are, those people who seek their honour from the heavens, what beautiful people they are. Those who turn away from it are rubbish. Come, O Shah-i Mardan. Your lovers are in awe of you; how lovely you are! Shah-i Mardan. Allahu akbar. This wicked world cannot deceive them. The wicked world cannot deceive Shah-i Mardan and those who are in love with him. Please be with us, O Shah-i Mardan.

At the hour before dawn the winds of honour are blowing.

This world will give you no honour, says Shah-i Mardan. Do not seek for honour in this world! This world has no honour. Therefore, a person who seeks honour in this world, will obtain nothing at all. Man. Allah, Allah. Come, O Shah-i Mardan. He teaches us. He teaches us the path of honour, Shah-i Mardan. He says: be honourable ones! But where shall we find his honour? Honour and glory descend from the heavens. It suffuses the whole body. Ask for that, ask for honour. Let Shah-i Mardan teach you about this. At the hour before dawn the winds of honour are blowing. Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar. He is great and prevails over all. May the lofty heavens’ lovely breeze coming from the Presence of your Lord bring honour to your heart, May it instill in you the fervour of love. He who has not ardent love is as a dry stump, a log for the fire.

Say: Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm. May your heart be refreshed and cheered. Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm. al-‘azāmatu li-llāh wa l-‘izzatu li-llāh greatness and glory for Allah were sent down upon the Prince of Creation. They were sent down upon our Master, and he was cheered, his heart was gladdened. He found cheer and he found honour. Allah Almighty gave to him beauty. He gave him such beauty that all of creation is in awe of him, our Prophet and Master. O sons of Adam!

Look for beauty in the heavens. In the hour before dawn the nightingales of heaven sing. It gives you honour and your heart is refreshed.

Come to us, O Shah-i Mardan. Don’t waste your time saying: I will try to make myself beautiful with the stuff of this world. This world does not give beauty to mankind . This world give to man ugliness. Look for beauty in the heavens. In the hour before dawn the nightingales of heaven sing. It gives you honour and your heart is refreshed. You will find gladness, and you will have honour. Allahu akbar. Mā shā ‘Allāh, O Shah-i Mardan. Your Lovers are in awe of you. The honour of the heavens is what we desire. There is nothing here on the earth. The face of the earth is hideous, the face of the earth is ugly, the face of the earth is a disgusting cadaver. Do not chase after it! Allahu akbar. Come, O Shah-i Mardan From its beginning to its end, this world has been under the foot of mankind. He who holds the world high, above his head is of no value. You must know what it is that you are going to treasure.

Come, O Shah-i Mardan The whole world is a carcass, a cadaver. He who runs after it, turns into carrion himself. Be cheered, O beloved friend of the lovers, O Shah-i Mardan. Please come and teach us, so that we might learn. The nightingales sing at the hour before dawn, and the roses of the Divine Throne burst into flower. Shame on those who lie sleeping! – Those people who do not recognize its precious jewels. Shame on those people who run after ugliness! Ask, ask. So you might smell the scent of the roses of the Divine Throne. How lovely it is! Ask for the roses of the Throne, and for the song of Divine nightingales. O honoured mankind!

The Holy Messenger is the Prophet of Love. Muhammadun ul-Mustafa. Wake up, and connect your love to the love in his heart. Take this love, let us trade in love, let us deal in love.

O our Lord, You are Subhān, You are Sultān. You have sent to us Allah’s Beloved! You have sent him with every precious gem, and every sort of beauty. Woe to  those who are ignorant of the Beloved of Allah! O our Lord, our Subhān, our Sultān! Grant us love, to me for You. As the poet Yunus sang: “You are what I need, I want nothing else” he said. You are all I need, O my Lord. Anta Rabbī, anta hasbī, You are my Lord, You suffice me. Anta Rabbī, anta hasbī. Ana ‘abduka l-dalīl, ya Rabbī, I am your straying slave, O my Lord. Awake, in the oceans of ardent love.

Come to us, O Shah-i Mardan. They wish to explain to us. Let us try to understand. Then our life will completely change. We shall be filled with love, and we shall be laden with honour. All the prophets who came, and the Sultan of them all came to teach us this. Do not run after this world, he said. Come and embrace the fervent love of the Creator of the World, Allah Almighty. That is what Shah-i Mardan teaches us. The Holy Messenger is the Prophet of Love. Muhammadun ul-Mustafa. Wake up, and connect your love to the love in his heart. Take this love, let us trade in love, let us deal in love.

Roses bloom at the hour before dawn, and nightingales of the Throne do sing. Why are you still asleep, arise, don’t argue! Don’t expend any effort on this vile world. Receive the joy of the heavens receive its honour and beauty. Mā shā’ Allāhu kāna. O sultan of the Prophets, Habībullah, Habību r-Rahmān. He did not call us to this world. He called us to the Lord of Glory, to the Lord of the Divine Throne. There are so many things! Get out of the filth of this dunya. Turn to the Lord of the Throne, Allah Almighty. All these things that you desire… May our hearts be cheered, may they find joy and relief. There are roses opening at the hour before dawn, but we cannot awake to take their scent. We are unable to perceive their scent. The people of our times have turned into four-legged beasts who seek the stench of a carcass. Shame on them!

The Throne’s roses open the hour before dawn, again and again saying ‘Allah’. They open before the break of dawn, yes, and the Throne’s nightingales sing ‘Allah’ over and over. Mā shā’ Allāh, mā shā’ Allāh. Come, O our beloved Shah-i Mardan. This rubbish world, step on it! You should regard the gifts that the glorious assembly of the Lord of the Throne, the Lord of Glory has bestowed upon mankind. Be wakeful before the break of dawn! Come to us, O Shah-i Mardan. Tell us about it. Let us say: Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm. Let the gates open wide. Let our hearts be cheered. Let us find relief. Whoever runs after this world is like a jackal chasing after a carcass. You must distinguish yourself from this! Do not look for dunya/this world, look for Mawla/the Lord.

Let us take cheer and be glad, let us behold what we have never seen before. Let us receive the divine message coming from the Divine Throne. Let us experience the joy contained in them. Let us not expend our efforts on this lower world. This world is filthy. Do not fall into this filth. Look to smelling the scent of the blossoming roses of the Throne, O man! Allahu akbar. Come to us, O Shah-i Mardan. Your beloved friends are in awe of you. Do not speak of dunya. Speak of Mawla, say O our Lord! What do you gain from the dunya? Don’t run after this world. Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, the Lord of the 18.000 worlds. Each of these worlds, what kind of world is it? How did it begin, where will it end? Nobody can know.

Al-hamdu li-llāhi Rabbi l-‘ālamīn. Praise and Glory be to the Lord of the Worlds. When he speaks of the worlds, we have been told, Shah-i Mardan has told his beloved friends of eighteen thousand worlds. What does each world consist of? What is its beginning, what is its end? No one knows, only the Creator can know. He dives into the Oceans of Love and Ardour and from them He draws out these worlds.

Be of good cheer, O man. May your heart’s eye be opened. May you rejoice. Come, O Shah-i Mardan. Mā shā’ Allāhu kāna wa mā lam yashā’ lam yakūn. Let us ask, and be cheered and joyful. Let us get to know the honour of being human. Shaytan wishes to turn men into monsters. That is all he is trying to do: to turn men into monsters. That is the work of shaytan. Allah Almighty has made man to be sultan. But shaytan is trying to make man into a devil, to make him to be like himself. Don’t become a devil! Don’t represent shaytan! Try to become the representative of Habibullah, the absolute Beloved of the Lord of Might and Glory, the Absolute Lord of the Heavens. Do not become shaytan’s representative. It is shaytan who has turned today’s world into a dreadful, ill-famed place. All evil comes from shaytan, and from the teachings of shaytan. Guard against them! Say: Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm.

Insha’ Allah we will hear the song of the nightingales of the Throne, and will take in the scent of the roses of the Throne.

What a great honour! In the hour before the break of dawn, nightingales of the Throne do sing. The roses of the Throne blossom in the hour before dawn, go in amongst them! Go, enter those paradise gardens! O our Lord, forgive us and grant us strength. Give us strength so that we might revere Your Name, so we might sing Your Praise and Glory, O Lord. Increase us in strength. Let us spend our time reciting tasbīh-u tanzīh. O our Lord, give us strength! May those who dispel the honour of mankind be confounded and destroyed. Come, O Shah-i Mardan. The field is yours. Teach us, so that we might learn. O Shah-i Mardan, your Lovers are in awe of you. How great is your beauty! How lovely are your words telling of the ways of Allah!

May our hearts be cheered, may there remain in us no sorrow, no darkness in our hearts. May there be no wildness left in us. Come to us, O Shah-i Mardan. Your Lovers are in awe of you. al-Fatiha.

Al-hamdu li-llah, shukur Allah, thanks be to the Lord. Insha’ Allah we will hear the song of the nightingales of the Throne, and will take in the scent of the roses of the Throne. We bow in sajda before the Presence of our Lord. We will be filled with joy and faith and love. Grant us the gift of Your Divine Support, O Lord.

al-Fātiha.
