You Only Cheat Yourself

When you try to cheat Allāh ﷻ by being insincere or lazy in your prayers or not keeping your word, you only cheat yourself. Allāh ﷻ is not in need of your prayers or your charity and He ﷻ knows your intention. In this time, people cheat by teaching ignorance in place of knowledge.

 As-Salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatu Llāhi wa-barakātuh. 

A‘ūdhu bi-Llāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Aṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-awwalīna wa-l-ākhirīn. Madad yā Rasūla Llāh, madad yā Sādātī Aṣḥābi Rasūli Llāh, madad yā Mashāyikhanā, dastūr Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistānī, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad. Ṭarīqatuna ṣ-ṣuḥbah, wa-l-khayru fi l-jam’iyyah. 

People don’t like to be cheated. When someone is cheated, he gets angry when he realizes it. He gets angry and cross with that person saying, “He cheated and lied to me.” But people mostly cheat themselves. They harm themselves. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n “Yukhādi‘ūna Llāha wa-huwa khādi‘uhum wa-idhā qāmū ilá ṣ-ṣalati qāmū kusālá yurā’ūna n-nāsa” (4:142), “wa-mā yakhda‘ūna illā anfusahum” (2:9). They want to cheat Allāh ﷻ. But Allāh ﷻ is not in need of anything from you. Neither your worship, nor your right or wrong deeds, nothing affects Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Only you lose. If you want to cheat Allāh ﷻ, it is said in Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n, you will have cheated yourself. 

If they get up for prayer, they do so lazily – that is if they pray. Back then who did pray they were some hypocrites. Now it’s worse. People forget Allāh ﷻ and don’t accept Him ﷻ. Allāh ﷻ doesn’t need them. “Yurā’ūna n-nās” (4:142). They are doing things only to look good in the eyes of people. But “wa-mā yakhda‘ūna illā anfusahum wa-mā yash‘urūn” (2:9). They are cheating themselves. They are not aware of it. They think they are smart cheating Allāh ﷻ, cheating people. Whereas their egos are harming themselves. When a man gets wholly cheated, he gets harmed of course. He gets harmed either materially or morally. And he does this harm to himself. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla can’t be cheated. Who think they cheat Him ﷻ, they cheat themselves. They are idiots. No matter what wealth, what rank, what education they have got, it will be of no use. They will have cheated themselves. 

May Allāh ﷻ protect us from the evil of our egos. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created mankind in such a way that everything is a lesson. They should learn from everything. They should learn conduct and good manners so that their actions do not cause harm to themselves. At least they won’t do useless things. Who knows the truth, will not even bother thinking about cheating Allāh ﷻ and people. The harm comes to ourself. Even if he harms others, the biggest harm will go to him. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. May Allāh ﷻ not separate us from the right way. May He ﷻ show guidance to people because in this time the majority of people are like this. They think they are fooling others, that they are cunning in all aspects. While trying to cheat, they have mainly cheated themselves in worldly matters as well. They lose and fail in the eyes of others. And the biggest harm is to themselves. May Allāh ﷻ protect us. 

May Allāh ﷻ protect us from the evil of our egos. Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla created mankind in such a way that everything is a lesson. They should learn from everything.

Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla when want something for people, He ﷻ want good thing. But people they like to be, have something they thought they are doing good, they will be win something, they try to cheat people. But at the end this, they cheat themself. Especially they want to cheat Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. In Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n Allāh ﷻ tells us because He ﷻ create us, He ﷻ know what we are. “Yukhādi‘ūna Llāha wa-huwa khādi‘uhum wa-idhā qāmū ilá ṣṣalati qāmū kusālá yurā’ūna n-nās” (4:142), “wa-mā yakhda‘ūna illā anfusahum” (2:9). Qur’ān ‘Aẓīmu sh-Sha’n Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla saying, they want to cheat Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. And when they are going for praying, they are going lazy, by force, or to make people to see this people they are praying, they’re doing good thing. They do this for cheating people. But nowadays they, people even not praying, not doing anything. 

But Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla saying: “Wa-mā yakhda‘ūna illā anfusahum” (2:9). Only they cheat themself. When they do, try to cheat Allāh ﷻ. Allāh ﷻ He ﷻ is not in need for anything from you. If you pray, you pray for yourself. If you do charity, you do good thing all for yourself. But when you are trying to cheat Allāh ﷻ only… not sincere with praying, not believe in praying, you cheat yourself. You do it only in front of people. When people know that you are not praying – that time not praying but now worse, very worse than before. Because that time even, if not praying it will be problem for them but now most of people not praying, no problem. But they have another thing, which worse. So, what you do? 

People they are angry for people who try to cheat them or cheat them. When somebody cheat you, you become real angry. “This said this and after I saw he is doing another thing.” “He said to me he will meet me and I wait him hours. After he cheat me. He didn’t come, just make like this.” This is… When somebody doing for you this, you are very angry. So who try to cheat Allāh ﷻ, and say Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla He ﷻ said, “They cheat themself.” So it is worse, you cheat yourself. When other people cheat you, you are angry. When you cheat yourself you saw, you think you are clever, you are doing good thing. No. You do worse, because you have good chance to make good thing, but you cheat yourself and you make destroy what you do. So, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla warning people not to try to do this, to be aware from themself. 

Everything doing it must be pure for Allāh ﷻ. When you do something, when it is pure, you are sincere. But if not pure, just for show, you cheat yourself and you will be get nothing. This is what human being’s nature and now this time it is worse, and worse from another any time else. Because this time, who claim they giving knowledge, they cheating people also. They give them not knowledge – ignorant, ignorancy. They give people to not accept their Creator ﷻ, not accept prophets. Even in who claim they are Muslim, they not accept also – some of them [not accept] ṣaḥābah, some of them awliyā’u Llāh, some of them muḥaddithīn. They have many kind of people they cheat them their self when they not accept this and they are loser. 

Allāh ﷻ keep us to be not to be cheated. To be with Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla, who nobody can cheat Him ﷻ, in shā’a Llāh.
